👨‍💼👩‍💼 Nova Middle School wins National Title (again) My alma mater, Nova Middle School, has a 3-Peat! They’re the 2025 “We The People” competition National Champions. Team Coach, Kristin Murphy (Plantation resident), led the Mighty Nova Titans all the way to Washington DC for this years tournament and brought home the gold 🥇. Her Assistant Coach (and husband) Will Murphy (Plantation Firefighter) said, “He was thrilled that the team was able to win again. For the 3rd yr in a row!” 💪 Check out a video from the coach about their historic win! 

🍪 Where in the World is Dr. Bob! He attended the grand opening of Mission BBQ in Lake Mary, FL. It was a smashing success culminating with an 102 yr old WWII Veteran cutting the ribbon and declaring the location open. He’s been attending their openings for the past 14 years and said he was so honored to be at his 102nd Mission BBQ! Check out some highlights of his visit! Dr. Bob will be in Disney World next week. So we will bring you a Disney update in Issue #13 of the Plantation Buzz.

The Aden Perry Foundation will be there with Life Rings and other water safety education materials. Plantation aquatic complex Central Park. 10a-2p.

Aden Spencer Perry died attempting to save a man from drowning off Flamingo Rd on April 19, 2022. While driving at night, an 18-year-old man was in an accident in which his car struck a tree, was launched airborne, and traveled into a pond, where it came to rest upright about 40 feet from the bank in water about 25 feet deep.

Aden Perry, a true hero died while trying to save his life. Aden’s Mum, Sarah, has dedicated her life to promoting water safety with Life Rings and other educational material.

🚒 30th Annual Plantation Volunteer Firefighter Association Golf Tournament The tournament is SOLD OUT, so they are not taking anymore golfers. However, the PVFA is still looking for sponsors. If you would like to support our Firefighters as a sponsor please contact Joanne Gaskell 954-797-2150. Sat, May 17th at Plantation Preserve Golf Club.

🚨 Plantation Police officers responded to a home invasion robbery in unincorporated Fort Lauderdale at the request for mutual aid by the Broward Sheriff's Office. Officers K. Murray and H. Curtis were the first to arrive on the scene, where they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The officers quickly applied tourniquets and rendered life-saving medical aid until rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.

For their swift and courageous actions, Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony honored Officer Murray and Officer Curtis with a Life-Saving Award. Their dedication and professionalism, regardless of jurisdiction, exemplify their deep commitment to protecting and serving the community. The Plantation Buzz salutes these great officers actions to save this person’s life. Awesome job! 💪Thank you Plantation Police Dept!

⚽️ American Heritage Girls Soccer team received their State Championship rings after completing the coveted 3-Peat when they won the State Title this season! Congrats Girls!

🥎 South Plantation High School Girls Softball Team won the District Title this week when they beat Nova High and Fort Lauderdale High in the Districts Tournament. They’re onto the Regional Tournament tonight 6:30 Pop Travers Park. Dr. Bob will be announcing his 1st Regional Softball game! Congrats Girls, good luck tonight!
