🧠 Fun Fact in History for August 21st
1858: The first Lincoln–Douglas debate between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas took place in Ottawa, Illinois.
1897 Olds Motor Vehicle Company Founded Ransom E. Olds founded what would become Oldsmobile, one of America's pioneering automobile manufacturers.
1959: Hawaii Becomes the 50th U.S. State. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the proclamation admitting Hawaii into the Union, making it the 50th state of the United States.
1961: Motown's First No. 1 Hit The Marvelettes released “Please Mr. Postman,” which became the first-ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit for Motown Records—a milestone in music history.

💧 Child in Plantation drowns in Hawk’s Landing family pool. A bystander, a Plantation Police Officer, and the Plantation Fire Dept Rescue crew (Rescue 77) saves her life!
Just an incredible story. And you might recognize someone (me) in the on scene interview with CBS 4 Miami reporter Ana Mcallister. Watch it here.
The child is now home and recovering. Just a great story of survival and team work in saving her life. We are all so proud & thankful for the heroes of this story.
Thank you for helping to give this child a fighting chance. More details are coming on this story in the coming weeks.
