🧠 Fun Facts Did you know that YouTube was originally created as a video dating site? I did not realize this either.

It was launched on Valentine’s Day in 2005, and the founders quickly pivoted when they saw users uploading all kinds of other videos instead.

Now, over 500 hours of content are uploaded every minute!

From cat videos to college lectures, YouTube has truly become the world’s video library.

And on October 9, 2006, Google announced that it had acquired YouTube for $1.65 billion.

This is arguably one of the greatest acquisitions in modern history as YouTube’s valuation is now $550 billion. This is a 33,000% increase in value!

Quite astounding.

It’s safe to categorize this as an incredible investment.

We all fall down the YouTube rabbit hole sometimes. Guilty as charged! But what kind of viewer are you? Make sure you vote in today’s readers poll. So, we can learn about your YouTube personality.

In Other News…

Broward county could be closing 7 elementary and middle schools due to low enrollment. According to the Sun-Sentinel, “The district has lost about 37,707 students over the past decade, including nearly 10,000 the past year alone, and has more than 50,000 empty seats.”

The declines are attributed to an increase in private school vouchers, homeschool options and families with school-aged children moving due to affordability issues.

Plantation Middle is on the chopping block. They may make Plantation High into grades 6-12, and send Plantation Middle students there. Stay tuned as we keep an eye on this story.

Last Week’s Poll Results:

🐮🐐🐷 If you could hang out with one farm animal for a day, who’s your pick?

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Goats – because who doesn’t love their silly jumps 🐐

⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ Cows – for the calm vibes and big soft eyes 🐮

🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ Pigs – smart, funny, and maybe sharing snacks 🐷

🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ Chickens - I hear they taste like chicken 🍗

🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜️⬜️ “All of the above” – give me the full barnyard experience! 🚜

Reader “Top Slate” wrote, “ “I especially like goats because I don’t eat them. I feel really bad that I eat beef and pork. So hanging out with a cow or a pig would make me feel guilty. And chickens are just noisy and poop everywhere.” And welcome back Top Slate! We missed you. LOL!!
