🦸‍♂️ Aden Perry Scholarship Fund 5k Race is awarding $14,000 in scholarships to High School students! Race is Apr 12, 8a (Register here) at the Amerant Bank Arena (FL Panthers Arena). This foundation formed to honor Aden Perry. He is a true hero who died trying to save the life of someone who was drowning in a canal off Flamingo Rd.

🦎 Non-Native Species (Iguanas) Feedback Solicited by the FWC The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is currently soliciting input on proposed changes to non-native species regulations in Florida. Share your comments and let your voices be heard on this issue. Do you want it to be easier or harder for people to remove iguanas off of their property? Share your views as the rules are about to change.

🚒 🦮 Plantation Fire Department Fire and Life Safety Officer Tery Echevarria and her Crisis Response K9 Raegan have added another feather in their cap(s) after successfully completing the Animal Assisted Crisis Response Canine Class. Tery has been with the Plantation Fire Dept for 25 years! 💪 Amazing!!

If requested, they will respond as a team to an incident and provide traumatic stress mental health care for firefighters who need assistance. This is a very important & amazing program. Congrats to the graduates! Thank you Tery & Raegan.

👨‍⚖️ Mayor’s Update Here is the most recent update from Mayor Nick Sortal.

💧 The Plantation Water Utilities Dept treats 13 million gallons of water a day! This water is then distributed to homes & businesses for drinking, cooking, washing, irrigation, leisure and to fire hydrants for fire protection. Here is how they do it.

🚲 Have you seen this bike? It was stolen from a 13 yr old boy near Fig Tree Park. Bright yellow Savage Flyer bike.

Be on the look out for it.

🏢 City Council Meeting Watch last week’s meeting where they honored Vietnam Veterans 🇺🇸. Two Council members attended via Zoom: Jennifer Andreu was with her kids away on Spring Break & Louis Reinstein was all the way in Israel for an event at Ben Gurion University! Shalom! Next council meeting is Wed 4/9 at 6p.

Final Thoughts

If you’re feeling the pressure to have everything figured out. Your career, your finances, your success. It can be a lot. But keep in mind that greatness takes time.

Remember that at 23 years old these 3 notable men were not where they ended up:

Jeff Bezos was flipping burgers at McDonalds.

Walt Disney had just filed bankruptcy.

Larry Ellison was a college dropout and working odd jobs.

These 3 men went on to start 3 of the biggest co’s in the World! Amazon, Disney World, & Oracle.

Do something that you love and stick with it. Don’t give up. It isn’t over until you win!
